Understanding the Avikto UI
The Avikto interface is designed to help you work efficiently with cases. This guide walks you through the main areas of the interface and what you'll find in each one.
Navigation Overview
The Avikto interface consists of three main areas:
- Left Sidebar — Quick access to all major features
- Top Navigation Bar — Search, notifications, and user menu
- Main Content Area — Where you work with cases, projects, and reports
Left Sidebar
The left sidebar is your command center. It remains accessible from every page and contains quick links to:

Tip: Collapse the sidebar by clicking the ‹ chevron to give more space to the main content area.
Top Navigation Bar
The top bar contains tools you'll use frequently:
Left Side
- Organization/Project Selector — Switch between organizations or projects
- Breadcrumb — Shows where you are in the interface (e.g., Projects > My Project > Cases)
Right Side
- AI Chatbot (🤖) — Open the AI assistant for quick help and intelligent suggestions
- Chats (💬) — Access your conversations and messaging
- Notifications (🔔) — View alerts and messages
- User Profile (👤) — Dropdown menu to access profile settings or log out
Key Interface Elements
1. Lists and Tables
Most work in Avikto happens in lists. You'll see cases, projects, reports, and templates displayed in tables with sortable, filterable columns.
Features:
- Sort: Click a column header to sort ascending/descending
- Filter: Click the filter icon to show/hide columns or filter by values
- Search: Use the search box within a table to find items quickly
- Bulk Actions: Select multiple rows to perform actions on all of them at once
2. Cards and Tiles
Projects, templates, and dashboards are sometimes displayed as cards. Each card shows key information at a glance and can be clicked to open full details.
3. Forms
When creating or editing cases, templates, or workflows, you'll work with forms. Forms may have:
- Required fields (marked with *)
- Help text — Information explaining what a field is for
- Dropdowns — Click to select from predefined options
- Rich text editors — Format text with bold, italic, links, lists
- Date/time pickers — Calendar interface for selecting dates and times
4. Modals and Panels
- Modals — Pop-up windows that require action before you can continue
- Side panels — Details, history, or settings that slide in from the right
Working with Cases
When you open a case, you'll see:
Case Header
- Case ID and title
- Status (clickable to change)
- Priority badge (color-coded)
- Quick actions (edit, more options)
Main Content (Tabs)
Details Tab
- Case information (title, description, assignee, due date, etc.)
- Custom fields defined in your template
- File attachments
Comments Tab
- Threaded comments where teams collaborate
- @mentions to notify specific people
- Rich text formatting and attachments
- Activity timeline showing all changes
History Tab
- Complete audit trail of every change
- Timestamps and user attribution
- Useful for compliance and troubleshooting
Case Journey Panel
A collapsible right-side panel that provides two views of the case's communication record:
- Request History — Chronological log of all status changes, field edits, assignments, and system actions
- Interaction Notes — Structured notes documenting calls, emails, meetings, and other direct interactions with case contacts
Interaction notes can only be added while the case is in Edit mode. Open the case for editing to add or update notes.
The panel also includes a note text search bar for quickly finding specific interactions.
Right Panel
- Quick info — Key details at a glance
- Relationships — Related cases
- Assignee and followers — Who's involved
Filtering and Searching
Global Search
Press Ctrl+K (Windows) or Cmd+K (Mac) from anywhere to open global search. Search for:
- Case titles and IDs
- Project names
- Template names
- People and teams
- Documents — Search across files and documents attached to cases
List Filters
When viewing a case list or table:
- Click Filters to narrow results by status, priority, assignee, date range, etc.
- Save filter combinations as views for quick access later
- Use Advanced filters for complex criteria
Keyboard Shortcuts
Speed up your work with these shortcuts:

Responsive Design
Avikto works on:
- Desktop — Full interface with all features

- Mobile — Simplified view with essential functions (view cases, add comments, update status)
Tips for Efficient Navigation
- Use the sidebar to jump between areas instead of using browser back/forward
- Save filtered views to quickly get to the cases you work with most
- Use global search instead of browsing through lists
- Keyboard shortcuts are faster than clicking, especially for repetitive tasks
- Star/favorite items you use frequently for quick access
