Case Templates & Types

Case Templates define the structure and required fields for different types of cases. They ensure consistent data capture and streamline the case creation process.

What are Case Templates?

Templates are predefined forms that set:

  • Required fields — Must complete before creating case
  • Optional fields — Additional information (optional)
  • Field validation — Rules for data entry
  • Default values — Pre-populated information
  • Help text — Guidance for users

Using Templates

Creating a Case from Template

  1. Click New Case button
  2. Select appropriate template
  3. Fill in required fields
  4. Optional: Add more information
  5. Submit to create case

Template Selection

Choose based on:

  • Case type (Bug, Feature, Support)
  • Process workflow (Contract, Compliance)
  • Department (HR, Legal, IT)

Template Library

Access templates in:

  • Case creation dialog
  • Project Settings → Templates
  • Templates section in main navigation

Each template shows:

  • Template name
  • Description
  • Fields included
  • Creation date
  • Usage count
